Undergraduate Minor

A minor in the Women's Studies and Gender Studies Program consists of five courses (or 15 hours). The one required course is either WSGS 101: Introduction to Women's Studies and Gender Studies or WSGS 201: Contemporary Issues in Women's Studies and Gender Studies. The other four courses are electives from courses crosslisted with the WSGS program.

Students must declare a minor in Women's Studies and Gender Studies via LOCUS and meet with the Program Director, Dr. Betsy Jones Hemenway, in Crown Center 116 to outline their program.

  • WSGS 201: Contemporary Issues in WSGS
  • ENGL 283: Women in Literature
  • ENGL 306: Studies in Women Writers
  • ENGL 307: Feminism & Gender in Literature
  • FNAR 207: Women, Art, & Society

  • PLSC 394: Comparative Family Policy: Work & Family Reconciliation
