Launched in spring 2006, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Loyola University Chicago continues a long tradition of unwavering support for working adults who wish to advance their education. The School of Continuing and Professional Studies follows in the Jesuit educational tradition by providing application-oriented programs and certificates that prepare working professionals for today’s dynamic workplace. Courses are offered in an accelerated, eight-week evening format with the opportunity to earn up to 30 credit hours per academic year.
In 2008, SCPS launched the Women's Leadership Initiative. The many facets of the program are designed to bring cutting edge proprietary educational opportunities to women leaders. Since our launch, we have designed and redesigned the Certificate in Strategic Leadership, sponsored numerous workshops, and hosted five annual conferences.
The Women's Leadership Initiative has grown to be one of the premier programs in Chicago, bringing presenters, speakers and panelists from across the country in various areas of expertise. Past Conferences have included Anita Alvarez, Cook County State's Attorney, Susan Sher, Former Assistant to First Lady Michelle Obama, and Diane Osgood, Founder of Osgood Sustainability Consulting and member of the Clinton Global Initiative. Our mission is to continue to provide the most relevant and empowering programming available, and to stand apart as the most respected institution for women leaders.
