Herstory: Hear the Stories of Loyola's Phenomenal Female Leaders

Herstory speakers: Carolyn O’Connell, Paige Gardner, and Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt.

As a part of the university-wide celebration of Women’s History Month this March, the Gannon Scholars Leadership Program hosted "Herstory: Hear the Stories of Loyola's Phenomenal Women Leaders" on March 11th.  The program featured a panel of female leaders from the Loyola community for the purpose of sharing their stories and reflections on women’s leadership.  The panel speakers included Ms. Paige Gardner (Program Coordinator, SDMA), Senior Associate Athletics Director Carolyn O'Connell, and Campus Ministry Chaplain Sr. Jean Dolores Schmidt.

The speakers focused on their own journeys to becoming a leader, talked of challenges and triumphs they experienced, and gave advice regarding how to become a leader.  Each woman gave a presentation and after all three, audience members were given the opportunity to ask questions.

Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt responds to a question from the audience.

The Sr. Jean Dolores Papers are part of the Women and Leadership Archives many collections documenting women in leadership.  Learn more about our other collections here.
