Saturday Night of Comedy

Chicago is home to some amazing stand-up comedy venues and has served as the launching pad for many of today's comedic legends. In keeping with the Loyola tradition, this year’s Saturday Night of Comedy will feature two amazing comedic acts. Follow @welcomeweek on Twitter to get hints revealing this year’s comedians!

Saturday of Service
10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Damen Student Center, 2nd floor, Sister Jean Hall North

Here's your chance to connect with your classmates and get involved with your new community. We will be doing a variety of service projects around the Rogers Park and Edgewater neighborhoods. The first 200 participants receive a t-shirt and everyone receives lunch. Bring a water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Generous support provided by the office of Senator Heather Steans, the Edgewater Environmental Sustainability Project, and Loyola's Community Relations. Sponsored by Community Service & Action.

Explore Justice and Activism at Loyola
10:30 a.m.–noon
Damen Student Center, 2nd floor, Sister Jean Hall South

Join the Office of Sustainability and Loyola students as they show you how to get involved in eco-friendly activities. Student leaders will talk about their work on campus for sustainable and local food, the Green Initiative Fund, and the fight for healthier air against coal companies. Be inspired and find a way to make your impact at Loyola.

Discover Your Chicago

After picking up your U-pass, join Welcome Week leaders on excursions around the city to find your Chicago. Each trip will feature a different area of the city to explore. All events are free; however, shopping is available at some locations at your own expense.

Social Sorority & Fraternity Life Info Session
3–5 p.m.
Crown Center Auditorium  

Learn more about Loyola’s sororities and fraternities from current members and staff. All of our chapters also will be present during an open house immediately following our information session. Whether you know you want to go Greek or you have no idea what it means, this information session will give you all the basics on sorority and fraternity life at Loyola. Parents also are welcome.

Mundelein Auditorium

For fun and prizes, enjoy real casino table games and more. Prize drawings will happen throughout the night, with a grand prize drawing at the end—so you’ll definitely want to hang around!
