Learning Community Kickoff
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 

Crown Center Auditorium

Eat food, get a t-shirt, meet new friends, and learn about the amazing experience you'll have in your Learning Community this year! Meet your RA in the lobby of your residence hall to walk over to Crown Center. All students who live in a Learning Community are required to attend this kickoff.

All students who live on campus are required to meet with their residence hall staff for a mandatory community meeting. Look for signs or speak with a staff member from your building for your specific meeting location.

Commuter Con 2017

Commuting to Loyola? You’re in good company! The first-ever Commuter Con is your chance to plug into campus and connect with fellow commuting students. Commuter Con features games, prizes, a current commuter student panel and more. Meet Off-Campus Student Life’s professional staff, connect with the Commuter Ambassadors, and learn more about campus resources. After the event, we'll join the class of 2021 for the Convocation Walk. Sponsored by Off-Campus Student Life.

New Student Convocation

East Quad (rain location: Gentile Arena at 4:00 p.m.)

MANDATORY FOR NEW STUDENTS

Join all new students in Loyola's annual Convocation Walk, the procession led by your Student Body President. The route will take you through Cudahy's ceremonial South Green Doors and end at the New Student Convocation. The New Student Convocation is an annual tradition when all entering students are inducted into their graduating class, and their academic careers officially begin at Loyola University Chicago. Students are welcomed to the University community by the president, provost, vice president of Student Development, faculty, and staff.

MANDATORY FOR NEW STUDENTS

Engage in small group discussions on the First-Year text, Showdown, facilitated by Loyola's faculty and staff. In addition to the book discussion, take advantage of your time with faculty and staff to talk about the transition to Loyola. Sponsored by Academic Affairs. (Dinner will be provided).

Movie on Devon

Bring a lawn chair, blanket, your friends & family to see the screening of the classic film, Jumanji! Popcorn will be provided.

Build a 'bler
8:30 p.m.
Damen Student Center, Multipurpose Room

Make Loyola your home! Come to the DSC MPR to build your very own ramBLER. Each attendee will be able to stuff and dress their wolf, all while watching a film. Sponsored by Student Activities & Greek Affairs and the Department of Programming.
