NEW STUDENT CONVOCATION

The New Student Convocation is an annual tradition when all entering students are inducted into their graduating class, and their academic careers officially begin at Loyola University Chicago. Students are welcomed to the University community by the President, Provost, Vice President of Student Development, faculty, and staff.

First-Year Residence Hall Community Meeting All students who live on-campus are required to meet with their residence hall staff for a mandatory community meeting. Look for signs or speak with a staff member from your building for your specific meeting location. |

Get connected to Loyola! Off-Campus Student Life will provide you with an opportunity to meet and ask questions of dedicated staff, gain insight into on and off campus resources, and the chance to ask a panelist of upper-class commuter & transfer students questions. This information session will provide you with resources for becoming a successful student. After the meeting we’ll join the Class of 2016 for the Convocation Walk! |

Conversations on Your Journey MANDATORY FOR NEW STUDENTS Engage in small group discussions on the One Book, One University text, Enrique's Journey, facilitated by Loyola's faculty members. In addition to the book discussion, take advantage of your time with facilitators to inquire about academic life. Sponsored by Academic Affairs. (Dinner will be provided.) |

Halas House Party The Campus Recreation Department welcomes you to the "Halas House Party!" Come see all that the Halas Recreation Center has to offer. The Aquatics area we will host a "Battleship" Competition where participants in canoes try to sink each other’s battleship! Bring your swim suits if you want to play! Come and preview many of our fitness classes, head upstairs to the basketball courts for a “bags” and dance contest with prizes going to the winners. |

Sex Signals Blending a unique combination of improvisational comedy, education, and audience participation, Sex Signals provides a provocative look at the issues of dating and sex on college campuses. The show uses humor throughout to laugh about the differences between men and women and engage audiences in candid discussions about how we treat one another. Also, learn more information about the Loyola’s Wellness Center and services. The residence hall floor with the highest percentage of attendees will receive a party courtesy of the Wellness Center and Student Activities & Greek Affairs! |
