Anastasia (Annie) Busiek is the editor of Loyola magazine. She is responsible for the content and production of the alumni magazine, which is published three times a year and is mailed to 130,000 alumni around the country. She also contributes to other UMC publications and projects, including Inside Loyola and various newsletters and brochures. Prior to becoming the editor of Loyola magazine, she was a communications coordinator for the department. She has been with UMC since February 2006.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Annie previously worked as a copy editor and event coordinator for Northern Illinois Physicians For Connectivity, a regional healthcare information organization, as a staffer for a state senate campaign, and, for several years, as a page at the local public library. She graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a BA in English. During her time at Carleton, she wrote for the school newspaper’s arts and culture supplement, The Carl.
