One-time steps to prepare to connect to the VPN
After the one-time steps have been completed
Note: Once you have completed the one-time steps and are comfortable connecting to the VPN, you can simply open your browser and go to https://vpn.luc.edu to connect.
1. Upon successful processing of the VPN access request, a confirmation email message from “Loyola VPN Administrator 8-6086 ” will arrive containing an auto-generated ‘private key’ password and a client certificate (clientcert.p12) file attachment.
Save Client Certificate file on desktop.
Launch Mozilla Firefox. Navigate to Tools-> Options (for Windows) || Edit->Preferences (for Linux)
Click on Advanced Tab. Click View Certificates.
Click Import from Your Certificates tab.
Locate your certificate file on desktop (if you saved it on desktop). Click Open.
Enter your certificate password (Find it in E-mail from VPN admin).
Enter https://vpn.luc.edu/ in the address bar. You will be redirected to login page. You will be prompted to choose your certificate.
Enter your UVID and Password.
After you are successfully logged in. Click on Remote Network Access (VPN). A Network Access window pops-up prompting you to install VPN plugin. Click Allow.
Click Install Now.
You must restart Mozilla Firefox explorer for the plugins to take effect. Click Restart Firefox.
Enter https://vpn.luc.edu/ in the address bar (Firefox restores its session even if you don't want to enter address). You will be prompted to choose your certificate. Click OK. An Information balloon pops up on the below-right corner when you are successfully connected.
