About
William French received his Ph.D. from the Ethics and Society Program of the Divinity School of the University of Chicago in 1985. He teaches and researches in the areas of religious ethics, environmental ethics, and war and peace studies. He has served as the faculty advisor to Loyola's Student Environmental Alliance. He has published on Christianity and ecology, ecological value theory, transportation and ecology, animal welfare, and environmental security issues. His articles have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Religion, Environmental Ethics, Soundings, Peace Review, Second Opinion, and theology & Public Policy and in a number of books. He is currently working on a book, Natural Law and Ecological Concern. Professor French teaches THEO 292: Moral Problems: Ecology Crisis
