About
David J. Treering is Loyola’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. He oversees the GIS lab located in the Quinlan Life Sciences Building.
David’s geographical and technological expertise allows faculty to conduct spatial analysis of environmental trends at a highly sophisticated level for research and decision-making processes. With a background in geography, he can help coordinate information from various disciplines as they relate to each research question. In addition to collaborating on several research projects, David is working with Clean Air, Clean Water Research Program. He is designing a comprehensive geospatial database of a size and scope useful to researchers and community partners alike.
Prior to overseeing GIS projects at Loyola, David worked on multiple initiatives to address the economic and social viability of the region. David earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Northern Arizona University in 2001 and a Certificate of Geospatial Technologies from DePaul University in 2004.
