College Coaches

Why Should You Be A College Coach?

As a College Coach, you will work with an exceptional group of students, make contacts and friendships with dynamic colleagues, and gain valuable experience in a rigorous academic community.

Interest Sessions
All sessions will be held at 6:00pm* in Galvin Auditorium
Tuesday, January 20th, 2015
Thursday, January 22nd, 2015
Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 *(7:00 pm)

The College Coach compensation package includes $3,000 (pre-taxes), $600 in declining balance, Free lunch during the SEaL program, $100 in Rambler Bucks, Enrollment in an internship course (UNIV 392 - qualifies as an "engaged learning" core class), FREE Swag!, and an awesome summer in the city!

College Coaches will also live in the designated residence hall for the duration of the program.

LUREC Retreat May 20 - 22, 2015 All day
Summer Training May 26 - June 5, 2015 Times Vary
Programs Commence June 6 - August 9, 2015 Times Vary
CC Move-out August 9, 2015 By Noon
College Coaches will be requested to attend and contribute during two Summer 2016 Interest Sessions as well as help out during the new staff interview process.

Candidate Eligibility
  • Be an undergraduate, degree-seeking student who has completed a minimum total of 24 credit hours (or obtained sophomore status) by end of spring semester.
  • Have a grade point average (cumulative) of at least 3.0 at the time of application. Candidates who do not attend Loyola must submit transcripts to summerscholars@luc.edu for review.
  • Exhibit commitment to the mission of the Pre-College Summer Scholars program.
  • Possess the following qualities: maturity, responsibility, flexibility, initiative, motivation, enthusiasm, integrity and a strong, positive work ethic.
  • Be able to work effectively with a diverse group of team members and to promote the benefits of diversity.

How to Apply

  • Attend one required Interest Session
  • Complete the online application
  • Schedule a Round 1 interview
Please Note
  • If selected for a Round 2 interview, you will be required to create and present a unique program proposal.
  • If selected for the position, your employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
  • Acceptance of this position means you may not accept a position as Orientation Leader or a Resident Assistant.
