Loyola Faculty-Led Program
Program Description
This three-and-a-half week summer program in Aix-en-Provence is an intensive immersion experience. Students are taught by resident French faculty at all levels, from elementary French to advanced courses in culture and civilization, and receive six credit hours. A Loyola University Chicago faculty administrator is on hand at all times to accompany students on numerous excursions and cultural events, and to ensure the success of their experience in France.

Faculty
Dr. Andrew McKenna, a Loyola French professor, will lead this program. Courses will be taught by French faculty from the University of Provence.
Academics
Target students for this program are undergraduate students who wish to major or minor in French or who wish to participate in a French language immersion experience.
Courses taken during the summer will be at the University of Provence. The courses will count for six credit hours for various 101 to 300-level French courses. Students may elect to take:

FREN 101/102: Introductory French

FREN 103/104: Intermediate French

FREN 250/251: Composition and Conversation

FREN 300: Tutorial for Credit
Housing & Meals
Students have the option of either living in a residence hotel (with shared suites that include a private kitchenette and bathroom) or in a homestay.
During the week, breakfast and lunch will be provided at the University of Provence cafeteria.

Tuition: $3,630
Total cost: $5,296
Not Included: airfare, train fare, personal spending money, other meals, optional baggage and travel insurance, optional residence hotel wifi fee, and incidental expenses. All students will be required to purchase international health insurance separately.
Application Process
Application deadline is March 22, 2010. Students are encouraged to apply well before the deadline as space is limited.
Applications must be submitted with a $100 non-refundable deposit and a copy of a valid passport or receipt of passport application.
