Program Information
This program caters toward students who have a strong proficiency in French. L' Universite de Provence provides a true French immersion experience at the Faculte de Lettres (liberal arts) in Aix-en-Provence. Students live in university residence halls and enroll directly in courses taught in French. Classes are made up of native French speaking students as well as other exchange students from around Europe. The Faculte de Lettres is well known for a strong program in liberal arts and social sciences.

Aix-en-Provence and France
Aix-en-Provence is a thriving city of about 150,000 inhabitants. It is situated approximately 30km from Marseilles and its major port (sea links with North Africa, Corsica, and Sardinia) and from an international airport. Close to numerous sites of unique natural, historical and cultural interest, Aix-en-Provence is a mere two-hour drive from both the Alps and the French Riviera. It is a perfect base from which to discover southern Europe and the Mediterranean area.

Types of Accommodation
University Halls of Residence
Students who wish to live in University Residence Halls must indicate this on their application. Upon a student.s acceptance he/she will be sent a specific housing request form to fill out. Showers, restrooms, kitchens and reading rooms are available on each floor.
Private Accommodation
Rents vary depending on their location and size. Apartments in Aix tend to be 20%-30% more expensive than in Marseille.
