First Steps

Attend an Information Session (When Available)
The Office for International Programs frequently hosts informational sessions for students who are interested in studying abroad. These informational sessions offer a chance for students to meet with a representative from the Office for International Programs and pick up literature about an array of programs. This is a great way for students to find out more about study abroad at Loyola and the first step towards isolating a program that is a perfect fit!
Meet with a Study Abroad Advisor
Students are encouraged to visit with a study abroad advisor at the Office for International Programs, who can help you select an appropriate program, provide more program details, and help guide you through the application process. You may stop by the office during weekly walk-in hours for advising.
Students may also schedule an appointment if they are unable to meet during walk-in hours. To schedule an appointment with a study abroad advisor, call 773.508.7706 or email intlcntr@luc.edu or Kelly Heath.
Submit your Application
Students interested in applying to any of the Rome Center, Exchanges, USAC or the Affiliate programs can pick up applications in the Loyola Office for International Programs. To determine whether you meet the standards for study abroad, see eligibility.
Students interested in applying to Loyola programs sponsored by any of the individual departments or schools must apply directly through those schools.
As part of the study abroad application process, it is mandatory that every student has a recommendation form filled out from their academic dean as well as one from the dean of students. In addition, all those participating in study abroad programs must complete a medical form and submit a copy of their official transcript.
To pick up the following forms:
- Dean of Students Recommendation Form
- Academic Dean Recommendation Form
- OIP Study Abroad Medical Form
