Tuscany
This spring a new group of fortunate Rome Center students enjoyed the classic Tuscany trip. On Firday the group left the green Siena hills behind them and arrived at Tenuta Torciano winery, below the picturesque San Gimignano, where they sampled not only the famous Vernaccia and Chianti Classico but also a homemade Tuscan ribollita. Not entirely full, they made the short trip to San Gimignano for lunch at Ristorante Peruca. Students then had a couple hours to explore the vistas, museums and towers of San Gimignano. The group arrived at the Montestigliano estate before dark, allowing students a period of awestruck incomprehension at their new temporary home. The fire in the dining room was roaring, and the welcome dinner was as tasty as the views were beautiful. View the Photo Gallery on the right.
