M.S.W. Advanced Standing Option

Qualified candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) degree within the last 5 years from an accredited school of social work may apply for the Advanced Standing MSW option by selecting the Summer II term on their application.  Advanced standing is an accelerated MSW that begins in July where students complete 34 total credit hours including a 720 hour internship in their specialization area.  Full-time students complete the program in ten months, after completing the Summer, Fall, and Spring Semesters. Part time students will complete the degree in 2 years with classes the first year and internship the second year. 

There are 5 specializations to choose from.  Every student must choose 1.  Those who wish to do school social work must apply to the advanced standing option by April 1st.  Once admitted into the Advanced Standing MSW program, students who wish to specialize in schools must submit their declaration of specialization form along with their Test of Academic Proficiency scores or its approved substitute no later than May 1st. 

MSW Career Information 

Applications are due May 1st for the Advanced Standing option; however, we encourage students to apply by March 1st for scholarship consideration.
