Ongoing Programs

Loyola 4 Chicago

Make local volunteer service a regular part of your week! Loyola4Chicago (L4C) gathers groups of students for weekly service at a dedicated site. Team building and reflection support your experience.

Jumpstart is a national early education organization preparing children to succeed in school through language and literacy development. Jumpstart recruits and trains college students to deliver supplemental preschool programs in low-income neighborhoods. Volunteers who complete a full term of service are eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,195.

St. Thomas of Canterbury Soup Kitchen

Every Tuesday and Friday, a group of First-Year Loyola students volunteer at St. Thomas of Canterbury Soup Kitchen to prepare, serve, and share a meal. Join us to go just a few stops south on the El once or twice a week, or simply when you can.

Meet us at 3:40 in the CSA (Damen Student Center 232) with your U-Pass, appropriate clothing (please, no shorts), and closed-toe shoes. We hope to see you there! ***If you would like to come with a group, be sure to contact at least one week in advance so we can try to accommodate you.***

The first day of service in Fall 2014 will be Tuesday, September 2nd.

Please note: Any students looking to have service hours verified for any reason must first get approval from CSA staff. Verification is not always possible, and not all service sites allow students to fulfill disciplinary hours.
