Meet our Team

Angela King Taylor Director
 300 w x 200 v   Angela hails from East Chicago, IN.  She received a B.S. in Business Management from Hampton University, which she affectionately refers to as her “Home by the Sea”.  Angela obtained her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Affairs from Old Dominion University.  Angela has held various positions in the areas of human resources, fraternity and sorority life, and academic advising.  She has worked and served at a diverse range of institutions such as the University of Kansas and Tennessee State University.  Angela is passionate about student development and helping students navigate their collegiate journey. Angela is very excited to use her skills and experience to enhance the Loyola student experience and build upon SAGA’s great work.

Leslie Watland Assistant Director
   Leslie Watland earned her M.Ed. in Social and Cultural Foundations of Education with a focus in Higher Education from DePaul University and her B.A. in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago. She joined Loyola University Chicago in February 2013 as the Coordinator for Damen Student Center, and joined the SAGA team in June 2014. Previously she served as the Coordinator of Student Engagement at Columbia College Chicago, supporting student organizations and special event programs for over 5 years. At Loyola University Chicago, Leslie supports ((dop)), our student led programming board, and several large scale events sponsored by SAGA.

Emmanuelle Escandar Budget Coordinator

  Emmanuelle is originally from Seattle, WA. She received her BA in Humanities from Seattle University and her MBA from Loyola University Chicago. Emmanuelle has been immersed into a number of different professional fields including architecture, commercial real estate, county government and, of course, high education. She also has a long-standing background with event planning. As the budget coordinator, Emmanuelle understands how important finances are in the programs and events that the Student Activities & Greek Affairs office as well as the student organizations plan. As a staff member, she is actively involved on the Division of Student Development’s Professional Development Committee and Loyola’s University Staff Council. Her hobbies include tennis, soccer, bubble soccer, scuba diving, being a foodie and traveling.

Kristin Ramey Coordinator, Student Organization Development
300 w x 200 v   Kristin began her role as Coordinator for Student Organization Development in September 2015. A native Kentuckian, she received a B.S. in political science from the University of Louisville (GO CARDS!). Following graduation, Kristin served as a Traveling Leadership Consultant for Sigma Kappa Sorority.  Prior to this role, Kristin served Student Activities & Greek Affairs as the Graduate Assistant for student organizations.  In her current role, she supports student organizations' funding, programming, and management needs while planning several large-scale events for the department such as Welcome Week, Senior Send Off, Finals Breakfast, and the Student Organization Fair.

Precious Femi-Ogunyemi Coordinator, Student Organization Programming
Precious Headshot   Precious is thrilled to join the SAGA Team and the Loyola Community. Born in London, England but raised in Dallas, Texas - Precious brings a new perspective into her work and this team. Precious received both her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Anthropology and Masters of Education in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. In her current role, she supports student organizations' programming, leadership education, and serves as a resource for advisors and students. Additionally, Precious will help plan the Student Organization Awards and Welcome Week. Loyola has always held a special place in Precious' heart and she looks forward to helping students grow and find their purpose.

Janine Myers Coordinator, Sorority & Fraternity Life Development
‌‌‌1000x560   Janine, a native Buckeye, is eager to join the SAGA team at Loyola University Chicago.  Janine received her Bachelor of Arts in English from The Ohio State University and her Masters of Science in Education from Indiana University.  She most recently served as assistant director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Virginia Tech.  In this role, she served as the Interfraternity Council advisor and worked closely with leadership education efforts including an emerging leaders program and a risk management institute.  Since visiting Loyola as an undergrad, Janine has always had a special place in her heart for Loyola.  She is excited to explore the university and city, especially its options in food, spoken word, and community engagement.

Josh Jarvi Graduate Assistant for Sorority & Fraternity Life and Special Events

Josh, who is originally from Sterling Heights, MI, is honored to serve as the new graduate assistant for Sorority & Fraternity Life and Special Events. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Central Michigan University in May 2016. During his undergraduate years, Josh served as his chapter's Scholarship Director, Recruitment Director, and the Interfraternity Council Executive Vice President. However, his experience is not limited to Greek life. He has also served as a Resident Assistant, Academic Orientation Mentor, and Campus Ambassador at CMU. Josh is excited to begin his Master's program in Higher Education at Loyola, as well as getting to know the students and experience living in the great city of Chicago. Also, he loves trying new places to eat, so let him know what your favorite Chicago restaurant is!

Paola Carrera Graduate Assistant for the Department of Programming and Education
PaolaCarreraHeadshot   Paola earned her B.A. in both Sociology and Spanish from Loyola University Chicago and has returned to begin the Masters in Higher Education program at LUC- Go Ramblers! Following graduation, Paola served as a Leadership Consultant for Alpha Delta Pi where she visited over 25 college campuses to work with collegiate chapters of the sorority and helped to colonize a chapter at University of California-Riverside. Prior to her Graduate Assistantship, Paola worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Student Activities at Elmhurst College. In her current role, she will support the Department of Programming as a graduate assistant and SAGA through educational programming. She is very excited about the opportunity to be back at Loyola and serve the students in this role!
