Expert faculty members, generally with the highest academic degrees, teach Rome Center courses. Of the 20-24 faculty members each year, nine are full time. Professors are either visiting for a year from the home campus of Loyola University Chicago, or are scholars and professionals residing in Rome. Class size averages 18-22 to allow for discussion and student/professor interaction. The Rome Center also offers various on-site courses held at historical and archaeological locations in or near Rome. Except for the Italian courses, all classes are taught in English. Visiting scholars provide supplemental evening lectures several times each semester. In addition, faculty members conduct many weekend tours for students to places of interest in Italy.

The Staff

The Rome Center staff is committed to making the student's experience at the Rome Center as rewarding as possible. Professionals offer academic assistance, help ensure the student's physical and emotional well-being, and work in the business office to take care of administrative items.
