Mass of the Holy Spirit
Wednesday, January 27th, brought an official end to Spring Orientation 2012 as students and faculty joined together for the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
In keeping with Loyola tradition, mass was celebrated in the stunning St. Ignazio church near the Pantheon, with Fr. Albert Anuszewski presiding with co-celebrants Fr John Chandler SJ and Fr Ted Bohr SJ. This semester, the JFRC also had one of its own students, Domenick Tirabassi IV, a seminarian attending Fordham University, participate in the celebration. Music was performed by accomplished opera singer Professora Delia Surratt, accompanied by Professor Sander Evers and Residence Life Director Mike Beazley on the organ.
After mass, everyone was invited to join at one of two scrumptious restaurants right in Piazza Navona for dinner. The highlight was most definitely the infamous pear pasta with carrot sauce, which students have vowed is the best food in Italy! All in all it was a joyous and relaxing night as students and faculty made new friends and deepened the friendships they found during the first week at the John Felice Rome Center.
