Carnevale Silent Auction and Dance

To celebrate Carnevale and the beginning of the Lenten season here, the JFRC hosted a Carnevale Gala in Rinaldo’s lounge area.  Before the festivities of the party, the Student Life team collaborated with students, staff, and faculty to participate in a silent auction.

All proceeds from this semester’s silent auction will go towards a student-run garden located on campus.  A variety of items were donated, ranging from homemade baked goods to bike rides and tours through Rome.  Some of the higher bidding items were nights out with the Student Life Assistants and dinners with the Beazley family.

A total of 1070 Euro was raised from those in attendance, and will quickly be put to work for the beginning stages of the garden.  After the silent auction, students and staff donned their Carnevale masks and danced the night away.

Karaoke singing was optional, but students always love to sing their hearts out to artists such as the Jackson 5 and Rihanna.  The evening as a whole was incredibly successful and will benefit the school’s goal of implementing a student-run garden immediately.
