Local Food Conference at LUREC
Please join us for a discussion on how institutions can support the development of local food systems. This day-long gathering will take place at the Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus in Woodstock, Illinois. Morning panel discussions on existing initiatives and resources within our region will be followed by a farm-to-table lunch featuring food from the Center’s garden. An afternoon program will feature Open Space strategizing. A closing reception with hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will provide time for additional networking.
By the end of the day we will have:
- Shared activities and resources currently available,
- Explored opportunities for engaging our institutions in developing a regional food system, and
- Identified paths forward in the development of local food systems providing sustainable economies, healthy environments and resilient communities.
