Hassan Akmal joined Loyola as Director of Business Career Services in May 2014 after a very successful five-year career as a Visionary, Career Thought Leader, and Director of Career Services at multiple locations in both New York and Southern California. He’s committed to coaching career-seekers who will strengthen our global business system. He aims to foster a university-wide, living career culture that’s vibrant, celebrates/breathes success, and that’s readily visible. As he leads an impactful team, he hopes to help students connect passion to purpose, and instill “career readiness” while bridging new lines of communication and collaboration that champion change—commensurate positive change. He is a former Chief Executive Officer for a global not-for-profit that focuses on Forced Migration and Health, Financial Advisor for UBS Financial Services, and Business Development Manager. Akmal, a former professional tennis player and member of the UCLA Men’s Tennis Team, also completed a five-year contract as an International Right to Play Athlete Ambassador to the United States. His undergraduate degree is from the University of California, Los Angeles and he has a graduate degree from Columbia University. He recently graduated with a second graduate degree, a Master in Business Administration with a Concentration in International Business and plans to pursue his PhD in 2015.
Julie Sells, Assistant Director of Business Career Services: Career Advising, has provided career advising services and programs for Quinlan students and supported employer-related services since 2008. Julie has professional experience in university career services, healthcare, business and non-profit organizations, has taught an interdisciplinary internship class and been engaged in leadership within a variety of professional associations. Julie holds a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has completed graduate course work and certifications in career, leadership and organization development.
Gregory Costanzo joined Quinlan as Assistant Director of Business Career Services: Career Advising, in February 2014. His holistic approach to career counseling and development focuses on helping students and alumni increase self-awareness and promote intentional job and internship search strategies. Gregory comes from Loyola University Chicago’s College of Arts & Sciences where he served as an Academic Advisor; he also possesses a background in financial operations. Gregory holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rutgers University in Finance and College Student Affairs, respectively.
Wren Donofrio joined Business Career Services as the Assistant Director of Business Career Services: Employer Outreach and Relations, in July 2014. Wren is a motivated and experienced higher educational professional. Previously, she was a pivotal team member in the Career Services Department at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy, where she was the lead client relationship specialist and project manager for all Career Services-related events. She executed essential initiatives to enhance employer relations, career coaching skills, and brought innovative technology platforms to life. She started out her career in London as the EMEA Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at UBS Investment Bank. Despite initially wanting to make the move and become an expat, she realized she was unable to renew her Visa. Thus, making the move back to Chicago where she followed her passion and worked at the DePaul University Career Center in various positions for a few years. Her true passion is motivating students, helping launch their careers, and offering career guidance aligned with job opportunities to the next generation of industry leaders. Wren holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications in Public Relations/Advertising and Photography from DePaul University, a Post-Graduate Degree in International Business from St. Mary's University College (London, UK), and a Master of Arts Degree in Education: Social and Cultural Foundations in Education from DePaul University.
Alana Aldort, Administrative Assistant since July 2012, provides customer service for students and employers as well as logistical support for Quinlan Business Career Services. After 15 years in museum retail, she chose Loyola to begin her second career that utilizes her extensive background in customer service and operations management. Alana has an undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho and a Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame.
