Research/Scholarly Interests and Selected Publications

Ms. Robbins-Frank’s research interests like in higher education focusing on nursing student success.  She has both poster and podium presentations on an innovative teaching methodology in the Pediatric course entitled: Virtual Learning Environment to assist Pediatric nursing students in applying child through adolescence growth, development and Family Centered Care to their clinical practice. In this virtual learning environment students raise a virtual child from birth to eighteen years of age applying principles of growth, development and parental theories to the decisions they make for the child.   Through this participation in the virtual learning environment, nursing students in a Pediatric course gain valuable insight into the growth and development of children and adolescents and  the dynamics of parenting that enhance their skills  in communicating with parents in the clinical setting to better support and implement Family Centered Care.
