Research/Scholarly Interests and Selected Publications
The main focus of my research career has been the development, implementation and evaluation of school-based programs for low-income minority children and teens with asthma. This program of research has also included the development of an asthma self-efficacy instrument, a pilot study examining the effects of a school-based program that targets asthma and healthy weight and the effects of community violence on the health and welfare of its youth. My current research is exploring the transition of asthma self-care in college students.
