Loyola University Chicago

Mission & Identity

Ignatian Service Day

Each July, Loyola faculty and staff gather to give back to the Chicago community in memory of the life and work of St. Ignatius, founder of the Society of Jesus. Our Ignatian Heritage guides us to live in the service of faith and promotion of justice. Through our annual day of service, we are able to offer our gifts and talents for the greater glory of God to those in our communities who are most in need. Registration for Service Day 2016 will open in early June 2016. Details on the upcoming service site and photos from past service days can be found below.

Ignatian Service Projects

The University will also conduct an on-campus donation drive at all three Chicago campuses, Lakeshore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences.

Mass and Picnic

On Friday, July 22, we will celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola with a Mass in Madonna della Strada Chapel at 11 a.m. and our annual picnic on the West Quad at 12 p.m. All are welcome.
