School Bus Transportation Scholarship

LUMA offers field trip busing assistance to economically disadvantaged schools in Cook County. Funding is supported by proceeds from select events hosted by the ArtSmart Committee.

The Scholarship's purpose is to offset cost for up to two buses per fiscal year for transportation to and from the Loyola University Museum of Art, and offered to Chicago schools in need on a first-come, first served basis. Funding is limited, and cannot be used for lunch or travel to other venues.

How To Participate

Chicago schools in need of assistance to pay for bus transportation to the museum may apply for consideration. Once you have been confirmed for a visit to LUMA, please (1) forward via e-mail the visit confirmation to ArtSmart-LUMA@luc.edu and (2) complete the Request for School Bus Transportation Scholarship form.

Please forward your visit confirmation and complete the Request for School Bus Transportation Scholarship form at least 4 weeks in advance of your field trip.

An e-mail notifying you of the award decision will be sent within seven business days of your request.

If awarded, LUMA will reimburse your school for a portion or the full cost, depending on funds available, subsequent to your scheduled visit. You must submit proof of payment within one month of your visit, to the ArtSmart Committee to obtain this reimbursement. Additionally, it is your responsibility to make or cancel reservations for busing and the visit to LUMA. The Museum does not have bus parking facilities.
