Suchitha R. Goneh
Suchitha R Goneh is from India. She is a Doctoral of Juridical Sciences (SJD) student at Beazley Institute of Health Law and Policy, Loyola University Chicago, School of Law. She has completed her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) from Dr. BRAO University, Hyderabad and Bachelor of Law (LL.B, J.D equivalent) from Osmania University, Hyderabad. She was awarded an honorary student at the Andhra Mahila Sabha College of Law, Osmania University Hyderabad. She has achieved Post Graduation Diploma in Human Rights (PGDHRs) in International Law, Human Rights and Immigration Law from the Indian Institute of Human Rights. She has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from Mist, Hyderabad. She has also successfully completed her Master of Laws (LL.M) from University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.
She excels in her academic grades and her research theme includes “Prologue of Health Law in India and Micro financing the Health Sector.” She has been with Loyola for four years working with the Office of Graduate Legal Studies. She was invited as a law clerk expert to review International, Human Rights and Immigration Law cases at a Chicago’s immigration law firm. At UIUC she assisted developing the IP cyberspace. Before coming to United States, she worked as a High Court Solicitor and Patent Attorney in India. She has teaching experiences as an Adjunct Law Professor at Pre-Law School in India. As one of the first woman patent attorneys in her state, she began teaching Intellectual Property Laws at the corporate company level. Her research themes included ‘Why Indian marriages differ from the other, The Night of Terror (Bhopal Gas Tragedy Case), Police as a State Agent in violating Human Rights, Empowerment of Women in recent Indian Legislation and The three generations of HR’s.’ She has several published articles both in local Chicago newspapers and Indian newspapers and magazines. She doubles as an executive founding member and legal advisor of Jonah Memorial Non-Profit Organization and a legal advisor for Mennonite Brethren Bethel Church, Hugestown, India. Her awards include Silver Medal State Honor Student at Andhra Mahila Sabha Law College, Best Student President of AMS, and Inter College Moot Court Champion in 2002, India. She won many awards for elocution, debates and Best Merit Award in techniques of teaching in India.
