About

Robert E. Lehrer is a Chicago lawyer specializing in plaintiffs' civil rights litigation. After graduating from law school, he was a Staff Attorney and then Supervisory Attorney at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago (LAFC) for ten years, and then the Deputy Director and Litigation Director at LAFC from 1983-1996. In 1996, he established, with an LAFC colleague, the law firm of Lehrer & Redleaf. The law firm was dissolved in September 2005 and Mr. Lehrer established his own practice. Mr. Lehrer has extensive trial and appellate litigation experience in the federal and state courts and has been lead counsel for plaintiffs in many class actions. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Civil Liberties Union, Illinois Division, from 1978 to 1996.
