About

Leslie Abramson is a film scholar who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Dr. Abramson’s essays have appeared in American Cinema of the 1960s (Rutgers University Press), In the Limelight and Under the Microscope: Forms and Functions of Female Celebrity (Continuum), Literature/Film Quarterly, and other publications. Her book on the films of Alfred Hitchcock is forthcoming from Palgrave Macmillan. Dr. Abramson has chaired a panel on Judgment at Nuremberg, among other academic panels. She has spoken on issues of crime in cinema and film adaptation, the films of Alfred Hitchcock, cinema of the 1960s, and other topics at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies conferences, Hitchcock: A Centennial Celebration conference, the University of Chicago Mass Culture Workshop, the Literature, Film, and the Humanities Conference, and other conferences.
