About

Anshuman is a career prosecutor with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office in Chicago, Illinois, assigned to the Criminal Justice - Special Prosecutions Bureau.  Anshuman represents the People of Illinois in state and federal courts throughout the greater Chicago Area, and supervises grand jury investigations and criminal tax fraud prosecutions statewide.  He also handles cases involving multi-million dollar bank fraud schemes, first degree murder, and crimes perpetrated against the State of Illinois or the United States Government.    

Prior to joining the criminal division, Anshuman was assigned to the Consumer Fraud Bureau, where he spearheaded investigations into consumer related industries and brought civil enforcement actions seeking injunctions and civil penalties against entities engaging in unfair or deceptive trade practices. 

Anshuman has also served as a guest lecturer in Eastern Europe, teaching graduate level criminal law classes in Kharkiv, Ukraine and Wroclaw, Poland.
