Professor Toney has been named an Illinois Rising Star by Super Lawyers for 2010 and 2011 and she owns The Toney Law Firm, LLC which specializes in Criminal and DUI Defense. For the past 4 years, Professor Toney has been Editor of the Illinois State Bar Association's Traffic Laws and Courts Newsletter. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Traffic Law and Courts Committee and is a Social Chair of the ISBA Young Lawyers Division. She graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Education. While attending Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, she was a Senior Editor of the Children's Legal Rights Journal. Professor Toney has published articles for the American Bar Association Journal E-Report, the International Bar Association and the ISBA Young Lawyer's Division Newsletter. She has been appointed to two committees of the Illinois State Bar Association and is a member of the National College for DUI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Court, Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.
