Gretchen Harris Sperry
Title/s: Judicial Clerk to Hon. Maureen E. Connors, Illinois Appellate Court
Gretchen is a judicial clerk to Hon. Maureen E. Connors of the Illinois Appellate Court. She previously served as a judicial clerk to Hon. Mary Jane Theis, now a justice of the Illinois Supreme Court. Prior to her service in the court, Gretchen concentrated her practice on school and municipal law with a specific focus on land use and commercial property tax litigation. Gretchen is actively involved in the legal community in Chicago, having recently been selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Appellate Lawyers Association, and serving as a co-chair of several subcommittees of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She also held a position on the adjunct faculty of another Chicago law school where she taught appellate advocacy. While a student at Loyola, Gretchen was the Publication Editor for the Annals of Health Law; a member of the Giles Sutherland Rich moot court team; a senior research fellow to Dean Michael Kaufman; and a legal writing tutor.
