Josie M. Gough is responsible for directing and further enhancing the Loyola University Chicago School of Law's well-established program of experiential learning opportunities. In her role as Director of Experiential Learning she develops and maintains relationships with the judiciary, government agencies, public interest organizations, and Chicago-based corporations that provide externship placements for the students. Ms. Gough counsels students in all aspects of experiential learning with an emphasis on professionalism as the students make their transition from student to attorney.
Ms. Gough has practiced law in Illinois in both the public and private sector for twenty-six years. Beginning in 2001, Ms. Gough, in her capacity as Deputy General Counsel for the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority,supervised Loyola law students participating in the law schools externship program. She has also been a member and officer of the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Alumni Board of Governors, member of its Diversity Council and mentor to many Loyola law students. In 2010 Ms. Gough received the Donald L. Hollowell Distinguished Service Award from the Loyola University School of Law Chicago Chapter of the Black Law Students Association.
