Insa Blanke is the Executive Director of the Foreign and International LL.M. Programs. She joined the law school in March 2012 to launch and manage the new LL.M. programs for foreign lawyers at Loyola’s downtown campus. Additionally, she concentrates on promoting international opportunities for Loyola’s faculty and JD students: exchanges with foreign law schools, participation in international conferences and projects, skill trainings programs, international internships, hosting foreign visiting scholars and organizing speaker series. Ms. Blanke works with the faculty of the International Law and Practice Program to coordinate and support all international programs at Loyola Chicago such as the summer programs in Rome, Beijing, and Strasbourg, the London Advocacy Program, the international children’s rights initiative, health law field studies, the comparative law seminars, and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court.
Ms. Blanke, who holds a law degree from Germany and graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law with a JD, has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 2001. After litigating for five years for the City of Chicago Law Department, Ms. Blanke transitioned into law school administration and has focused on international aspects of legal education and institutional progress. Prior to law school, she worked as an international legal consultant for an international law firm in Chicago. Ms. Blanke, whose native language is German, is fluent in English and also communicates in French and Russian.
