LAI Alums Form Board, Host Event

On Thursday November 14, the newly formed Life After Innocence Alumni Board threw the First Annual Life After Innocence Turkey Toss Bags Tournament.  The event drew a large number of current and former Loyola students, young professionals, exonerees and supporters of innocence.

Congratulations to Brian Remillard and Andy Carpenter, the winners of the Young Professionals Bags Tournament.  In addition to the adoration of their peers and one year of bragging rights, the winners received a pair of Bulls tickets donated by Board member Kate Conway. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to send exonerees to the annual Innocence Network Conference.

The LAI Alumni Board consists of alums from every year of LAI’s five-year history, including the founding members. The Director is Angela Inzano ’11, and Board members include Kate Conway ’11, Emily DeYoe ‘10, Stephen Donnelly ‘11, Gabi Schultz ‘12, and Eric Shah ‘10.

Alumni Board director Angela Inzano was pleased with the success of the tournament, stating "I am honored to have the opportunity to raise money for such a worthy organization. The exonerated men and women Life After Innocence works with are some of the most incredible, resilient, and inspiring individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and I cannot imagine a better reason to donate my time, energy, and money."

Thank you to everyone who came out to support LAI and a special thank you to Will’s Northwoods Inn for making our event a success!
