Nita Garg

Nita Garg is an associate in the Houston office of Baker & Hostetler LLP, and a member of the firm’s Healthcare Department.  Nita counsels businesses, organizations, and individuals in relation to a wide variety of healthcare services and providers, including pharmacy, provider practices, and hospitals.  Focusing her practice on healthcare regulation and litigation, Nita assists clients with various healthcare issues, including those related to fraud and abuse, privacy, and government investigations.  She advises healthcare clients on HIPAA and health regulatory matters, including licensure, and Medicaid and Medicare enrollment and reimbursement. Prior to Baker & Hostetler LLP, Nita was an associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Chicago. Her background also includes work in the legal services department of a hospital and the Civil Medicaid Fraud Unit at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.  Nita is quickly becoming a prolific author, speaker and teacher.  Most recently, she spoke on HIPAA, data breaches and the Sunshine Act at the Texas Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Society 2015 Annual Practice Managers’ Symposium.
