Researching Government Employers
There are innumerable opportunities at the various levels of government. A few of our favorite resources:
The University of Arizona Government Honors & Internships Handbook has appendices at the end that list the deadlines for positions by class year. If you are interested in government positions, be sure to check out these deadlines at the beginning of each year so that you don’t miss any of them. The username and password are in your Career Services 1L Handbook, or you can get them by calling our office at 312.915.7160.
PSLawNet is a fantastic clearinghouse of government and public interest opportunities. Just click on the the “Job Seekers” link under the words “New User?” on the right-hand side of the page to create your own account to access the site.
Also check out the 2010-2011 Federal Legal Employment Opportunities Guide, the Public Defender Handbook, and the Lawyer’s Guide to Government Employment in Chicago for ideas.
Need more? Once you’ve taken a look at these resources, be sure to check out the Career Services website section devoted to Government for more information.
