Deborah Gutman is an Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services. Debbi received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois in 1984 after returning the the United States from a three year, post-B.A. experience at a brand new kibbutz in the southern desert of Israel. Upon graduation, she practiced social work for two and a half years as a therapist for a child and adolescent program at the Lakeview Mental Health Council in Chicago. She was then hired as the Director of Career Services for Chicago-Kent College of Law. After several years at Chicago-Kent, Debbi resigned to take over a small "middleman" business that had been left after her father's sudden death. Debbi continues to handle that business in her spare time.
Debbi returned to law career services, working part-time for several area law schools, including Northwestern, Loyola, Chicago-Kent, and DePaul while she raised her daughter. Debbi has been with Loyola for over 20 years, working full-time for the last 6 years. In her spare time, Debbi can usually be found working in her garden.
