Networking

Networking is how most people, both in and outside of the legal profession, get jobs. Attorneys in private practice also find that networking is an important way to build a client base, or "book of business."  In this technological age, we find that students are often most comfortable with online job posting boards or social networking websites - the idea of networking by attending events in person or making phone calls may feel foreign, uncomfortable, or scary. But there is nothing like in-person networking to give you the opportunity to really connect with people who can help you shape your career path and find the job opportunities that aren't getting posted on online sources.

So, we've put together some networking resources to give you practical tips and advice on how to get more comfortable with the old-school, in-person art of networking. Networking is the most important career development skill you will use during law school and throughout your career as a lawyer.
