Scholarships and Fellowships for Upperclass Students
Deadline for scholarships is April 1.
Please read the instructions carefully and peruse the scholarship criteria both to ascertain if you are eligible for the scholarships, and to determine what documents are required for each scholarship.
General Instructions:
- PLEASE NOTE: Each of the scholarships and fellowships applications listed under "Loyola Scholarship Opportunities" should be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the respective committee. The letter should list what items you are submitting, i.e. if the scholarship requires a resume or an essay be sure to put that you are submitting one in your cover letter. Resumes should include rank and GPA where appropriate.
If a scholarship does not require an essay, include a paragraph on why you should be considered for that scholarship.
- A cover letter must be submitted including the name of the scholarship to which you are applying, and the name of the recommender, if applicable.
- If you are applying for more than one scholarship, a separate cover letter and resume must be submitted for each scholarship.
- All scholarship applications require the inclusion of a current resume.
- Please read carefully for other required documents.
- If the scholarship listing includes "show financial need", we must receive the results of the FAFSA by the prescribed deadline of April 1. The Financial Assistance Office will provide the "need quotient" from the FAFSA results to the selection committee(s)
- Some of the scholarships require a nomination letter from a faculty member. The letter should be addressed to the Named Scholarship Committee, and forwarded to Dean Bloomquist by the deadline, unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility as an applicant to ensure the timely arrival of the nomination/recommendation letter(s) and transcript(s).
- All documents required for each scholarship must be received by the deadline in the Law Admission/Financial Aid Office unless otherwise noted.
