Gregory Shaffer, Professor of Law at the University of Wisconsin Law School, has joined Loyola University Chicago's law faculty as the Wing-Tat Lee Chair in International Law. He is a renowned scholar in international law and an expert in the areas of international trade law and global governance. The Wing-Tat Lee Chair was created to honor the generosity of Wing-Tat Lee, a Hong Kong businessman who provided the funds for the endowment. Professor Shaffer has a distinguished record of scholarship and teaching and a strong record of practice in the field of international law. In addition to research, teaching and publishing in this area, the Wing-Tat Lee Chair will develop and plan international programs and conferences at the law school, and facilitate international law student and faculty exchanges for Loyola. Professor Shaffer joined Loyola from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He assumed the Chair position at Loyola School of Law on July 1, 2006. A formal induction ceremony for Professor Shaffer was held at the Loyola Law Center on September 11, 2006. |
