Annual Children's Summer Institute
"Children's Summer Institute to Examine Permanency Alternatives"
This year's Children's Summer Institute, held May 23-27, will focus on permanency alternatives for children in foster care, with a focus on legal guardianship. The annual Summer Institute provides a one-week intensive, interdisciplinary examination of issues concerning the best interest of children. The program is open to graduate students in law, social work, child development, education, and psychology as well as other interested students. A limited number of spots are available to practitioners interested in attending the full week program.
A keynote talk by Dr. Mark Testa, Director of the Children and Family Research Center at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champagne will be held May 23 from 2:45-4:30 p.m. Dr. Testa will speak on Permanency Alternatives in Illinois: What We Can Learn from Research. Dr. Testa's talk will be in Room 106 in the Rubloff Center, 25 E. Pearson, Chicago.
