ChildLaw Fellow Spotlight

Steve Mulligan ('09) is currently earning an LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center. He has worked in several child-focused positions including as a law clerk at the Center for Law and Social Work and as a legal intern at The Cradle Adoption Agency in Evanston, IL. He was also a summer associate at Winston & Strawn in Chicago. While in law school, Steve was a Lead Articles Editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Family Law Team. He has published three Child Law-related articles:
- The Roots of Restorative Justice: Constructive Myths, 31 UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE LAW REVIEW (Fall 2009).
- Redefining Domestic Violence: Using the Power and Control Paradigm for Criminal Domestic Violence Legislation, 29 CHILDRENS LEGAL RIGHTS JOURNAL (Summer 2009).
- Inconsistency in Illinois Adoption Law: Adoption Agencies' Uncertain Duty to Disclose, Investigate, and Inquire, 39 LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO LAW JOURNAL 799 (2008).
In the future, Steve hopes to continue to pursue a career in child advocacy, specifically in adoption law and policy.
