Academic Programs
The Loyola Civitas ChildLaw Center and Clinic offer students in each of its degree programs a rich interdisciplinary curriculum, and the opportunity to represent child clients, learn about the latest child welfare research, edit a national publication for child welfare professionals and earn credit through externships in Chicago's large and active child advocacy community. Highlights of the programs include:
- Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree: Intended for graduates of U.S. and foreign law schools, this program is keyed to the individual background and interests of attorneys and emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, advanced skills training and scholarly research on legal issues affecting children.

Child Law J.D. Fellowship: Loyola's Civitas ChildLaw Center offers a three-year Fellowship award for incoming full-time law students who are interested in developing substantive knowledge, advocacy skills and professional ethics needed to provide effective legal representation for children and families.

Master of Jurisprudence (M.J.) Degree: The only program of its kind in the nation, the M.J. program is specially designed to give professionals in social work, education, health care, psychology, law enforcement and other disciplines a better understanding of the law and an ability to function more effectively in the legal system on behalf of children and families.
