About Us

Media Services is the primary source of technology in the classroom. Our mission is to provide exceptional management and audio-visual technical support for classes and academic events. Successful use of educational technology enhances the teaching process and assures quality learning goals. We believe in "customer first" support for our faculty, students, administration, staff, and guests.
Services Provided
We provide:
- Delivery and pick up of audio-visual equipment in classrooms, auditoriums, and conference rooms
- Personal tours of electronic spaces and short tutorials on using the equipment
- Consultation to departments and academic units on the use of electronic spaces
- Assistance with planning for upgrades and development of new electronic spaces

General hours of operation (NOTE: Hours may vary by campus and are determined by class schedule):
- Fall and Spring academic sessions: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 9:30pm; Saturdays as needed
- Summer academic sessions: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm
- Academic breaks: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
- We are closed on Saturdays during breaks, Sundays, and all University holidays
Requesting Service
You can request equipment or ask for assistance using electronic spaces by contacting the ITS Help Desk at extension 8-4ITS on campus or 773-508-4ITS off campus. Faculty and staff can also login and use the self service system. Requests should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of an event.
Media Services does not reserve rooms. To reserve a space for an academic event, contact Campus Reservations at extension 8-8067 on campus or 773-508-8067 off campus. Be sure to describe your audio-visual needs when making a reservation. Equipment and support for Law School classes and events are arranged through the Law School audio-visual service at extension 5-7178 on campus or 312-915-7178 off campus.
Video conferencing:
For video conferencing requests, please reserve one of our video conference rooms with Campus Reservations at 773-508-8067 . Once your reservation has been confirmed, contact the ITS Help Desk at 8-4ITS on campus or 773-508-4ITS off campus. Faculty and staff can also login and use the self service system. Requests should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of an event.
Video streaming:
For video streaming requests, contact the ITS Help Desk at extension 8-4ITS on campus or 773-508-4ITS off campus. Faculty and staff can also login and use the self service system. Please note that Media Services does not provide a videographer. Requests to stream an event during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm) should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance. All requests to stream an event outside of normal business hours should be submitted at least 30 days in advance to accommodate for staffing adjustments.
Audio-visual content:
For audio-visual content, contact the Library at extension 8-2666 on campus or 773-508-2666 off campus. Faculty and staff can also request materials using the Library reservation system.
Standards
Media Services has developed a set of standards for electronic spaces and digital signage for the Lakeside Campuses. Both a narrative description and equipment list are available as downloadable PDFs. For assistance with planning for upgrades and development of new electronic spaces, contact us at extension 8-2960 or mediaservices@luc.edu.
