Paste from Word Mashup Tool

When you copy and paste text from an MS Word document into a Blackboard text box, the formatting may end up stripped away or altered, causing the text to look different and perhaps not have the same numbering, indentations, or bullets that you would like. Hidden characters in Word can also result in unexpected formatting. Often, unnecessary code is also added to the submission which can result in further complications.

The Paste from Word Mashup tool resolves this issue.

1. From any text entry box in Blackboard, click the Add Mashup button from the bottom row of the formatting tool bar.

2. Then select Paste from Word from the drop down menu.

3. This will open a new window. Paste your text from your Word document into the text box provided and click Submit.

Your text should now appear with formatting preserved in the Blackboard text box.
