exporting a test

Once you create a test, you can export it from one Blackboard course to another; this can be helpful if you choose to use the same test for multiple classes, sections, or over the course of several semesters. You can do this by exporting and then importing the test.

You can also copy tests into another course via a Course Copy or by Exporting/Importing a Course.

Export/Import Test

  1.  From the Control Panel, click Course Tools > Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

  2. Click on Tests to access the tests in this course. Click the chevron next to the test you wish to copy and select Export.

  3. A new window will pop up asking you to save your text as a zip file. Save the file to your local computer, in a location where you can easily access it for import (e.g,. the desktop).

  4. You can now import this test into another course. Access the course you would like to import the test to and navigate to the Tests, Surveys, and Pools section, and select Tests. Click Import Test.

  5. Click Browse My Computer to open a new window and locate the zip file you just exported . Click Open .

  6. Click Submit. You will receive a confirmation that your import completed and was successful.

  7. Click OK to navigate back to the Tests homepage.

  8.  Your test is now included in the “Tests” area of this course under “Tests, Surveys, and Pools” in the Control Panel, but it will still need to be deployed in a specific Content Area. Visit the "Deploying a Test" section in the tutorial Creating a Test to learn how to do so.
