Blackboard Numbers

Since 2003, Loyola faculty have used the Blackboard Learning System as an electronic extension of classroom teaching, to post course materials online, facilitate discussion between students via electronic message boards, and administer tests and quizzes remotely.

The numbers below provide a brief summary of the use of Blackboard by faculty and students during the Spring and Fall 2009, the Spring and Fall 2010 semesters, the Spring and Fall 2011 semesters, and the Spring 2012 semester.  

 

SPRING 2012

Active course sites: 1,985

Students using Blackboard: 12,962

Instructors using Blackboard: 1,113

 

54.5% of 3,708 courses* have active Blackboard sites

92.3% of 14,050 enrolled students are enrolled in at least one Blackboard course

* Course shells are created for all but School of Law and cross-listed courses.


FALL 2011

Active course sites: 2144

Students using Blackboard: 13,807

Instructors using Blackboard: 1,148

 

54.4% of 3,943 courses* have active Blackboard sites

93.1% of 14,831 enrolled students are enrolled in at least one Blackboard course

* Course shells are created for all but School of Law and cross-listed courses.


Spring 2011

Active course sites: 2,036

Students using Blackboard: 13,126

Instructors using Blackboard: 1,146

 

57.2% of 3,558 courses* have active Blackboard sites

91.5% of 14,344 enrolled students are enrolled in a Blackboard course

* Course shells are created for all but School of Law and cross-listed courses.


Fall 2010

Active course sites: 2,064

Students using Blackboard: 13,715 

Instructors using Blackboard: 1,126

 

55% of 3,751 courses* have active Blackboard sites

92.5% of 14,834 enrolled students are enrolled in a Blackboard course

Spring 2010

Active course sites: 1,872

Students using Blackboard: 12,965

Instructors using Blackboard: 1,082
