Free Rome Tuition for IPS Degree Seeking Students
As a demonstration of Loyola University Chicago and IPS’s commitment to international education, full tuition remission summer Rome scholarships are being made available to IPS degree-seeking students. All other students participating in the summer Rome program are eligible for grant funds equal to one-half tuition remission. Scholarship and grant funds apply to tuition only. Participants are responsible for airfare and program fees.
“Loyola University Chicago has a long history of supporting international education, particularly in Rome, Italy, where its John Felice Rome Center celebrated its 50th anniversary recently. IPS is now proud to provide its students the opportunity to study in Rome by providing scholarship and grant support,” said Dr. Brian Schmisek, Director of IPS.
IPS is offering three graduate courses over ten days in the Eternal City. Students are able to take one of the following courses: Christian Origins, Foundations of Christian Spirituality, or Liturgy and Christian Sacraments. The program is based at Loyola University Chicago’s John Felice Rome Center in a quiet district north of Vatican City. Participants will stay at the 4 ½ star Hotel Zone. Courses are punctuated with tours in and around Rome including St. Peter’s, the Colosseum, St. Paul outside the walls, Three Fountains (the traditional site of Paul’s martyrdom), St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and more. The subject matter opens up in a new way when students experience Rome firsthand. Evenings and weekends are free to explore the city and see the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Forum, the Villa Borghese and countless other sites.
